News from LucasArts

Not so much a Monkey Island update, but a rather interesting snippet from the latest LucasArts Insider:
Announcements Coming Soon!
LucasArts is poised to make several exciting announcements in the coming weeks. Watch the LucasArts web site beginning next week and be the first to know!

We'll remain optimistic and hope that it's a new adventure game. (there's probably an off-beat chance that it's Star Wars game tho)

Since nobody mentioned it here, i'll be the first one:
Take a closer look to the lucasarts-homepage. Quite refreshing to see this Indy-logo throning above all this star-wars-crap ;)

oh lookie here...
>Indy 4 News!

So Harry, Spielberg and Ms Spielberg (Willie Scott in ToD) say there's going to be an indy4! Hmm, if lucasfilm is about to announce it, then it could very well be that LucasARTS announcement may be related to that...who knows..

i dont like it the way everyone's being so negative about lucasarts...are you ppl serious that after all those games in the many early years that mean so much to us, and they make one mistake with EMI, that you have absolutely no faith left? You take all their credit away just because you didn't like EMI? (which was a perfect adventure, tho a bad mi sequel) C'mon, chins up ppl :D Oh and its going to be starwars announcements only...THEN you can throw the eggs at me ;P

They couldn't very well have announced it as "Really rather boring announcements" now could they?

Actually.. I'd consider a dead cat horrifying... last years announcements were just dull! About as exciting as having to playtest a Casino game for two days... hmmmm, why does that sound familiar?

Comment from The Huz

Would these be the "several exciting announcements" we were promised last year, in those exact words, which turned out to be about as exciting as a dead cat?

I'd love another MI game, but they made such an arse of the last one maybe they should let it lie.
I too would love another Indy adventure!

I would like it if Lucas arts did what the twisted metal guys did(get ron gilbert back to make another Monkey island game) get people to forget 3 and 4 and make his version of the 3rd, as the original makers of twisted metal left after the second, other people made a 3rd and 4th but they were never as good as the 1st two, then the original makers came back and made TM:black, so make Rons version of MI3

i would like to see a remake of mi2(no change to the joke and the story..except mayby stuff added in buy nothing taken out) either 2d or 3d

or a new plot with new characters, mayby a medevil one or one about the present

DOTT 2? Don't you mean Maniac Mansion 3? Perhaps not, since LEC didn't call "Jedi Outcast" "Dark Forces III".

I'd actually like to see a non-sequel adventure, since they haven't made one since 1998, and since the fans kind of chewed up and spit out EMI.

Not THAT optimistic :).

"LucasArts is poised" Poised -What do they mean exactly by that?

A new adventuregame that would be groundbraking and reinventing the adventuregenre would be a really really neat touch by Simon Jeffery if he pulls that off as LEC-president.

DOTT 2 would awesome also, or any other classic adventure.
