Monkey Island, the soundtrack

Live in the US and want that Monkey Island music on CD? Now is your chance - kind of. The LucasArts Company Store has added a CD called The Best of LucasArts Original Soundtrack which features a few songs from the Monkey Island series. The CD looks very cool, so be sure to check it out. Or alternatively, get the MP3s here.

That's great news :) I'd love to buy it too! Sadly though, I'm not from the US :( Oh well, I'll live without it :)

ohh cool! Correct me if I'm wrong but I think LEC said before they wouldn't release a soundtrack-cd.....anyway yeah I would really like that cd but as I'm not an US-resident it will be difficult.... Is there any other way to get the cd?

Yeah, it's for US residents only. I tried to buy a few games from them, but I couldn't. Copies work fine, though!*grin*
Guess Lucas' ass is so full of money he doesn't even care. Try amazon.com, or download the mp3 and burn them.

I think the reason they don't sell anything outside the US, is that they have deals with their distributors not to do it.

Yeah, I think they say that somewhere on their site.

But surely international distributors would not object to the sale of cd soundtracks, clothing, etc.

It's a bit silly really.

It's amazing what companies can object to when it comes to protecting their sales, really.

And then they complain about piracy... We want to buy, but they don't let us! I mean, aside from the money (piracy may be cheaper, but if you really like something, it's worth buying it - I did it with MI - bought the Australian pack, even though I had pirate copies of all the games) you have to search hard to buy things, when it's much easier to copy them. I wanted to buy Full Throttle, Grim Fandango and a lot of other games - they didn't let me. So, I just copied them. It's really much easier.
