Whoa, dude

In the spirit of our current poll, we've uploaded two screenshots to the LeChuck's Revenge version section showing off some differences which were more radical than I remembered them to be. Less colors and objects... I guess I really was wearing my rose colored glasses. View the screenshots here.

Interesting. The fact that most Amiga users had a portable TV as their display probably helped with the colours, but the absence of objects is less easy to disguise with annoying blurriness.

Let's blackmail Aaron Giles into making "Monkey Island AGA" for our retro edification.

Heh! The the "objects" that were removed were removed because they were independant of the background. If you notice as you walk across Woodtick, the boat in the forground moves at a different speed (called "parallax scrolling"). Just like the chandelier in Elaine's mansion in MI1 (which was removed when playing on an A500 but reinserted on an A1200).

So basically the reason the few parrallex objects from MI2 were removed was because of the extra processing power required (MI2 came out when everyone still had A500/600's).

It's also worth noting that non of the backgrounds themselves are animated in the Amiga version (ie the water doesn't move).

There's an EXTRA object in Amiga MI2 though (just like there's extra jokes in MI1) - can anyone spot it? :)
