The Monkey Island SCUMM Bar: Pirates of the Caribbean, part II

Many of you will remember LucasTones' Pirates of the Caribbean uncovered article. Well, now he's back - retro style of course, as it's still The Summer of Retro^TM ;D - with an article he wrote before the actualy release of the movie. Dealing with comparisons between the ride, movie and of course Monkey Island, this is an interesting read. Make sure to check out the downloads toward the end of page one also.

I feel very misrepresented by this site. I wrote *this* article about a year before the movie was released, because I was excited at what I thought would be Monkey Island the movie. However, after I eventually saw the film I realised that it isn't really like Monkey Island at all.

As a result of this, and this article itself, Gabez asked me to write a comparison between the games and the movie. As you may or may not know, I did get carried away with that when I handed over a 5600 word essay.

So, my point is: I'm not obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean! I do like it a lot, but the rumors are just ridiculous. Someone once told me they heard I phoned up the screenwriters! I mean, seriously.

I do feel the need to point out how excellent both of my articles are, in case anyone was unsure.

It's okay Lucastones, seeing the film seven times in the cinema is perfectly natural.

It wasn't seven times, *actually*

But it was more than any other film I've ever seen.. :~

2 times = about 10 movies
3 times = about 4 movies
3+ times = 1 movie

2 times = Pirates of the Caribbean only
