This is an inexplicably common mistake for some reason: The Nightmare Before Christmas was NOT directed by Tim Burton, it was directed by Henry Selick, an accomplished stop-motion animator. I know it's easy to assume, since the movie title is prefaced with "Tim Burton's", that Burton must have done everything but credit should be given where it's due (I'm sure Selick is sick of not being credited). Anyway, I know this piece is super-duper old but a bit of retroactive editing couldn't hurt.
Edit: also I enjoyed reading this again
